Even among the waterfalls, we’ve personally seen, narrowing it down to just ten was challenging. We attempted to balance accessibility, attraction, scenery, and longevity.

We’ve visited a wide range of waterfalls around the United States at this time.
It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting the world-famous Niagara Falls in New York or the lesser-known but equally stunning Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan. There are plenty of spots around the United States where you can connect to nature and see some impressive waterfalls.
Cumberland falls
They call this the Niagara of the South, and we can agree after experiencing it for ourselves. This generally huge and triangular waterfall may have achieved notoriety due to its ability to produce lunar rainbows. However, we observed typical rainbows at its base throughout our stay, which suited us perfectly. Fall colours further contributed to the already brilliant picture. Julie and I couldn’t believe that we didn’t pay anything for our stay for everything this waterfall delivered. Yet, at that price tag, it preserved a rustic countryside charm that appeared to be the standard in the South.

Fall of the Bridalveil
While we understand that there are other waterfalls of equal size (or greater size) across the nation, I prefer this 620ft waterfall open all year. After all, I thought its location is framing Yosemite Valley (probably the most magnificent valley on the planet) and directly opposite the majestic El Capitan to be as authentically Yosemite.
According to John Muir’s descriptions, this waterfall is a component of the scenery and photographed by Ansel Adams. And every visitor to Yosemite has undoubtedly observed this spectacular natural phenomenon (perhaps making it cliche to some).
However, on its own merits (and excluding the cliché element), we consider this one of the most gorgeously placed waterfalls in the whole world. During the springtime, the sight of the beautiful valley as we leave the Wawona Tunnel and approach the valley still produces a knot in my throat.
Falls of Tahquamenon
- And as that the Northernmost Part of Michigan is home to multiple waterfalls and the breathtaking Pictured Rocks, the usual block shape of this waterfall on a wide tannin-stained river attracted our eye.
- We enjoyed this splendour from some locations, which had a Naturales Que aspect distinctive of the UP.
- We couldn’t dispute its beauty, whether we saw it from the edge or a distance away from the Tahquamenon River’s banks.
- Lower Tahquamenon Falls, a cascade farther downstream, was also part of this vast waterfall.
- Autumn leaves may add even more brightness to an already stunning sight if they arrive at the right moment.
Falls of Havasu
- And it is not as large or powerful as any of the others on the list; it is without a doubt several of the country’s most stunning waterfalls.
- While it is not as enormous or forceful as any of the others on the ranking, it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country.
- It is also the only year-round waterfall in the Grand Canyon region, which makes it unique.
- It’s all about the colour and contrast of these falls. And this waterfall brings these elements together in a manner that no other we’ve seen before.
- The blue-green waters of Havasu Creek, the natural travertine stalactites and dams encircling the falls, and the red-rock wall grandeur that only locations like the Grand Canyon can generate were among the visual delights.
- The most satisfying experiences, as is frequently the case in life, must be earned. We had to hike at least 8 miles from a distant trailhead on the Hualapai Hilltop to the Supai town in the middle of the Havasupai Indian Reservation to earn our visit.
